General Information

Faculty of Science and Literature at Siirt University was founded in cooperation with Siirt University,  pursuant to article  article 5662/7 dated 17.05.2007 and has been active in 2008-2009 academic year.  At the meeting of the General Assembly of the Higher Education dated 15.11.2007, it has been deemed suitable to establish departments and main branches of the Faculty pursuant to Article 7 / d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880.  Our Faculty consists of active 7 departments and unactive 3 departments. While education activities are currently ongoing in the Departments of Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics, Sociology, Historyand Turkish Language & Literature; works are in progress to establishthe necessary academic infrastructure for the Departments of Psychology, Eastern Languages & Literatures and Western Languages &Literatures to start their educational activities as soon as possible.  

Our faculty has begun admitting students to the Departments of Biology and Mathematics during  the  2008-2009 academic year, to Department of Chemistry during the 2009-2010 academic year,  to Departments of History and Sociology during the 2013-2014 academic  year, to Department of History evening education during the 2014-2015 academic year, and to Departments of Geography and Turkish Language & Literature during the 2015-2016 academic year, and is carrying out educational activities.
